The 21st ACM International Conference on Distributed and Event-Based Systems (DEBS 2027) invites submissions to its Poster and Demo Track, showcasing innovative research ideas, preliminary results, emerging research directions, and practical implementations in distributed and event-based systems.
The Poster and Demo Track provides an opportunity for researchers, practitioners, and industry professionals to present ongoing work, demonstrate innovative solutions, exchange ideas, and receive feedback from the DEBS community.
Submissions are welcome across all areas covered by the DEBS 2027 conference scope, (see 2027.debs.org for the detailed scope).
Demonstrations offer participants first-hand, interactive experiences with research prototypes, innovative system designs, and operational systems relevant to distributed and event-based systems. The Demo Track provides a platform for showcasing novel implementations and practical insights, sharing experiences and lessons learned from developing, deploying, and operating event-based systems, and obtaining direct feedback from researchers, practitioners, and potential users.
Demonstration submissions are invited across all areas of the conference scope, including models, architectures and paradigms; distributed systems and software; and applications of distributed and event-based technologies, (see 2027.debs.org for the detailed scope)..
Submissions should clearly describe the objectives of the demonstration, the system design, key implementation aspects, and the main insights or contributions. Authors should explain the system's functionality and highlight the features that will be demonstrated to conference participants.
Demo submissions must be 2-4 pages, excluding references, acknowledgements, and appendices, and formatted according to the ACM conference proceedings format. All demo submissions must include the prefix "Demo:" in their title.
Authors are strongly encouraged, but not required, to provide a URL to one or both of the following:
These materials will be used solely to support the review and selection process.
Demonstrations that make their source code freely available are strongly encouraged. Open-source availability will be a requirement for consideration for the Best Demo Award.
Accepted demo contributions will be published by ACM and made available through the ACM Digital Library. Appendices will be excluded from the published version.
Poster presentations provide an opportunity for researchers and practitioners to present and discuss preliminary research results, novel ideas, early-stage systems, work in progress, and emerging research directions in distributed and event-based systems.
Poster submissions should clearly outline the motivation, central idea, proposed approach, and, where applicable, preliminary results. Contributions may report ongoing research, innovative concepts, initial experimental findings, or early-stage system developments that are relevant to the DEBS community.
Poster submissions must not exceed 2 pages, excluding references, and must follow the ACM conference proceedings format. All poster submissions must include the prefix "Poster:" in their title.
Accepted poster contributions will be published by ACM and made available through the ACM Digital Library.
Deadlines expire at 11:59pm AoE.
The review process will be single-blind. All submissions must adhere to the two-column ACM conference proceedings format with a minimum font size of 10 pt.
LaTeX and Microsoft Word templates and examples are available from the ACM Proceedings Templates page.
Authors are encouraged to use inclusive language and adopt inclusive practices in their writing and presentations. Further guidance is available in the Diversity and Inclusion materials.
Submissions will be accepted through the DEBS 2027 submission platform. Details of the submission platform and submission instructions will be announced on the conference website.

The authors of accepted papers will choose between different copyright agreements according to ACM policies. The options will include opportunities for open access and the traditional ACM copyright agreement.
By submitting your article to an ACM Publication, you are hereby acknowledging that you and your co-authors are subject to all ACM Publications Policies, including ACM's new Publications Policy on Research Involving Human Participants and Subjects. Alleged violations of this policy or any ACM Publications Policy will be investigated by ACM and may result in a full retraction of your paper, in addition to other potential penalties, as per ACM Publications Policy.
Please ensure that you and your co-authors obtain an ORCID ID, so you can complete the publishing process for your accepted paper. ACM has been involved in ORCID from the start and we have recently made a commitment to collect ORCID IDs from all of our published authors. We are committed to improve author discoverability, ensure proper attribution and contribute to ongoing community efforts around name normalization; your ORCID ID will help in these efforts.
