Main Venue: Institute for Lifecourse and Society (ILAS)

Located just minutes away from the Galway city Centre, University of Galway boasts wide range of venues for the conference, workshops, and various satellite events. The main conference will be in the ILAS Building. It has separate auditorium, boardroom and 4 individual seminar rooms. It is equipped with compatible web conferencing tools, AV streams, projectors, Lectern, and echo cancelling microphones and speakers. The mission of the Institute for Lifecourse and Society (ILAS) is to contribute scientific and practical awareness of human capacity and potential across the life course, thereby impacting positively on knowledge, attitudes, policy and practice, internationally.

There are 3 airports than can be used to reach Galway

  • Ireland West airport(UK & Europe): The smallest, only serves a few destinations in Europe and the UK. It is within a 1-1.5 hour drive/bus ride from Galway
  • Shannon airport(USA, Canada, UK & Europe): Can be reached from the UK and a few places in Europe, as well as some of the largest cities in the US. It provides US pre-clearance services and is within a bit more than 1 hour drive/bus ride from Galway city center
  • Dublin airport(International & National): It covers a large number of destinations in Europe, the US, Asia, and to a smaller extent Africa. It also provides US ore-clearance services and is within a 2.5-3 hour drive/bus ride from Galway.

Please note that with Citylink there are multiple options to reach Galway city centre directly from Dublin Airport. Bus number 760 connects the two cities in approximately two hours and a half, while the other services may take between 3 and 4 hours. To ensure you can travel on the fastest route, we recommend booking your bus ticket in advance.
